FOR those who once lived in Millbrook, Christmas wouldn't have been the same without two people - Father Christmas and Margaret Russell
Every year the cheerful lollipop lady would spread festive cheer as she helped children get across the road safely
For several decades she raised both smiles and money with colourful Christmas garb.
Margaret Russell patrolled the crossing in Wimpson Lane, Millbrook, for 31 years before she retired in 2011.
Every Christmas for 20 years, Margaret made a new costume. These ranged from a turkey to an elf, a candle to a clockwork soldier.
Kids and adults alike would be eager to witness the spectacle each year and see which new outfit she was donning. It became a solid part of the locals’ calendar.
How many of the costumes pictured do you remember Margaret wearing?
