THE extent of the works to rebuild Castlepoint shopping centre have been captured on camera this week, as officials confirm works are on track.
Works in the space outside Asda at the shopping centre are under way and further construction will continue into early 2022.
Centre manager David Pickett said: “The car park has now been completed outside B&Q, works are now underway outside Asda and in early 2022 reconstruction work will start on the west walkway.

“With over 2500 spaces available, I am looking forward to welcoming our customers to Castlepoint this Christmas.”
Most of the work is hidden behind hoardings but there is a section near WH Smith’s that gives an unhindered view of the development.
Serious structural problems were identified in the car park just two years after the centre opened in 2003.
The centre has announced there will be no limits on the free parking time this Christmas, allowing people to stay beyond four hours to shop and eat.
The multi-million pound project is on schedule.
