BCP Council has announced when bin collections will be taking place over the Christmas and new year period.
Rubbish, recycling and food waste collections will continue as normal over the festive period with usual collection days remaining the same.
The collection crews will be out collecting rubbish as normal on the bank holidays including Monday, December 27, and Tuesday, December 28, 2021 and Monday, January 3. 2022.
The council has reminded residents that the collection crews do not take extra bags of rubbish or recycling that are placed on top of or next to bins.
Extra rubbish and recycling can be taken to recycling centres at:
Nuffield Road, Poole (BH17 0RS)
Millhams, Longham (BH11 9LQ)
Wilverley Road, Christchurch (BH23 3RU)
All sites are closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Christmas tree collections
A couple of local charities will be collecting Christmas Trees for a small donation cross the festive period.
It’s worth checking and booking early to arrange your collection and to avoid disappointment.
Diverse Abilities will be collecting in the following postcodes BH1-BH18, BH21, BH23 1, BH23 2, BH23 3 and BH31. Collections run from Saturday, January 8 to Monday, January 10, 2022.

Lewis Manning will be collecting from postcodes BH1 through to BH23. Collections run from Saturday, January 8 to Friday, January 14, 2022.

Alternatively, residents can take their real Christmas tree to Upton Country Park for composting from December 27, 2021 to January 10, 2022.
You can also take your tree to a recycling centre for composting but these sites are closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
