A TEENAGER was assaulted and robbed of his phone in an attack in Boscombe.

Police are investigating the robbery, which occurred between 4pm and 4.15pm on Monday, November 15 outside the Sovereign Centre in Boscombe, and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The victim, a 14-year-old boy, was approached by a male teenager of a similar age, who assaulted him and took his mobile phone.

The victim did not suffer any serious injuries and was able to recover his phone with the assistance of passing members of the public.

The offender was wearing dark-coloured sunglasses and a dark-coloured jacket.

Police Constable Paul Metcalf, of Dorset Police, said: “We have been investigating this robbery and I would urge any witnesses, or anyone with information that might assist our enquiries, to come forward.

“I am particularly keen to speak to a woman who was with her child and a passing motorist in a blue van, both of whom went to assist the victim and are likely to have witnessed what happened.”
