A BUSY route in Ferndown will be closed for three nights as part of a major roadworks project.

The A348 Ringwood Road will be shut off from 8pm to 5am on Tuesday, December 14 until the morning of Friday, December 17.

A closure will be in place from south of Dunedin Drive to north of the entrance to Longham Business Park.

The junctions in Ringwood Road with Casterbridge Road and Angel Lane will also be closed.

The closures are part of the ongoing Transforming Cities Fund (TCF) improvement works, currently underway in Ringwood Road.

Dorset Council said the road block is necessary to carry out resurfacing and to allow the installation of new markings.

During the night-time closures a diversion will be in place from the Longham Roundabouts, along Ham Lane, Canford Bottom Roundabout, Wimborne Road, Trickets Cross roundabout and back along Ringwood Road.
