A FIRE broke out at a nature reserve in Poole on Monday afternoon.

Two crews from Poole fire station were called to Bourne Valley Nature Reserve at 3.19pm.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews on the scene discovered an area of heathland measuring approximately five metres by five metres was alight.

Firefighters used knapsacks and buckets of water to extinguish the fire and make the area safe.
