DIG out those flares, dust off that glitter ball and practice those groovy dance moves.
Camp Bestival has announced a Desert Island Disco theme for its 2022 event at Lulworth Castle between July 28 and 31.
The popular family friendly festival will also feature a brand new Guinness World Record attempt.
More than 324 party goers will be needed to take part in the attempt for the world’s largest disco dance.
Organisers of the event say it will feature a “sparkling line-up of disco delights across the entire weekend, including host of sequined sounds from the very best disco acts around, a brand-new disco stage featuring the World’s Largest Disco Ball, which is expected to see families dance the night away under the shimmering light of the gigantic glitterball”.

Camp Bestival curator’s Josie & Rob da Bank said: “We love dressing up in the da Bank house… in fact our dressing up box has almost turned into a dressing up room! So our Desert Island Disco theme has got us thinking all glitz and glitterballs - life size cacti, John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, giant disco balls, platform shoes, palm trees, formation dancing, thigh high boots, Village People, Studio 54, sequins, outrageous sunglasses and satin flares.”
There will also be a host of activities around the Desert Island Disco theme.
Performers at this year’s extravaganza included Fatboy Slim, Groove Armada, Becky Hill and Blossoms.
The line-up for Camp Bestival 2022 is due to be announced early next year.
Camp Bestival, which was founded in 2008, is the brainchild of renowned music specialist Rob da Bank and creative director Josie da Bank. It has won the title of Best Family Festival at the UK Festival Awards six times.
The event also now takes place in Shropshire and offers hundreds of events for families from circus skills, science explorations, bushcrafts, family raves, comedy, cocktails and award-winning street food.
