A BOURNEMOUTH based faith charity is urging those who have struggled with addiction during the pandemic to reach and join their growing number of workshops.
Faithworks has created a number of “safe spaces” as part of their recovery day programme, for those in recovery from addiction.
The day sessions are centred around purposeful activities to provide daily structure and the forging of healthy friendships.
With the Duchess of Cambridge recently highlighting the negative impact of the pandemic on addiction, recovery projects manager Emma Heath has said the need for more support for those in recovery is clear.
She added: “Recovery and developing new, healthy ways to deal with pain, as well as dealing with the root causes of trauma takes commitment and dedication.”
The new STAR Life Course launched this autumn and provides both in person and online recovery courses.
The course focuses on the importance of the mind, body and spirit in a person's recovery journey along with the well-known model of the 12 Steps.
