A PROLIFIC shoplifter has been jailed for eight weeks after committing three thefts over a two-week period - two involving the same business.

Victoria Tracey Peters, 31, of Howards Mead, Pennington, entered Marks and Spencers in St Thomas Street, Lymington, on November 2 and made off with two bottles of whisky valued at £64.

On November 12 she entered the shop at the Co-op petrol station at Wellworthy Road, Lymington, and stole produce and alcohol valued at about £40.

Peters returned to the same shop three days later and took items totalling £50.

Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, she entered guilty pleas and was handed a two-month prison sentence.
