A MAN has been fined by the courts for being outside of the hotel he was living in during the winter Covid lockdown without a reasonable excuse.
James Mark Phillpotts was said to have been in Bournemouth and left where he was living at Westover Gardens Hotel on February 11.
The case against Phillpotts, aged 25 and of Westover Road, Bournemouth, was proved under the single justice procedure process.
A lone magistrate sitting at Weymouth Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, November 16, issued the defendant, who was not present in court, with a £1,100 fine for the breach of the coronavirus regulations.
Phillpotts was also required to pay a £110 surcharge and £85 costs.
