CHRISTCHURCH'S Regent Centre theatre has amassed over seven thousand ticket sales for the latest James Bond film ‘No Time to Die’.

Screenings of the highly anticipated film, which started at the theatre on Friday, October 15, have been extended for a third time, with additional showings confirmed to take place over four days at the end of November.

It is the bestselling film for the Regent since they reopened in June 2021, and their highest grossing Bond film in recent times, far surpassing their tickets sales for ‘Spectre’ (2015), ‘Skyfall’ (2012), ‘Quantum of Solace’ (2008) and ‘Casino Royale’ (2006).

Regent Centre’s marketing officer, Laura Dean, said: “Bond is back, and we are selling tickets faster than 007’s Aston Martin BD5.

“We originally scheduled 25 screenings, to coincide with this being the 25th film in the Bond series.

“However, thanks to the incredible support of our customers, we quickly realised that more were needed to keep up with the demand.”

‘No Time to Die’, which marks actor Daniel Craig’s fifth and final outing as the British secret agent, was delayed three times from its planned April 2020 release date as Covid 19 lockdown measures shut cinemas globally.

It has since smashed UK box office records, grossing £25.9m on its opening weekend, more than any other film in the history of the James Bond franchise and has become the biggest movie of the year so far.

‘No Time to Die’ also holds the record as the longest Bond film, clocking in at an action-packed two hours and 45 minutes.

The film is being shown daily until Wednesday November 3 with additional screenings from Sunday November 21 to Thursday November 25.

Tickets are priced at £7.50, with concessions at £7 available at www.regentcentre.co.uk or from the Box Office by calling 01202 499199.
