AN INQUEST has opened into the death of a care worker who was involved in a single-vehicle crash.

Guilliano Laguerre, 36 and of Foxhills Road, Lytchett Matravers, died at Southampton General Hospital on October 5.

A Dorset Coroner's Court hearing at Bournemouth Town Hall on October 19 was told police and paramedics were called to reports of a collision.

Coroner's officer Nicola Muller said: "On attendance, the single male occupant of the vehicle has been removed from the vehicle and transferred to Poole General Hospital and then further transferred to University Hospitals Southampton for treatment for a head injury.

"The male now known to be Mr Laguerre has continued to decline and has passed away in their care.

"Police have confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances."

The location and date of the crash was not detailed during the hearing.

No post-mortem took place but a doctor's opinion as to the medical cause of death was given as a traumatic brain injury and an acute subdural haematoma which was operated on October 2, with polytrauma as the underlying cause.

Area coroner for Dorset Brendan Allen adjourned the inquest, with a review hearing due to take place on January 14, 2022.
