A YOUNG man from Bournemouth has received a court bill of almost £1,300 for breaking coronavirus lockdown rules.
Jaydan Cordell, aged 19, was alleged to have left his home and been located at Asda in West Quay Road, Poole, on February 14 without a reasonable excuse.
The charge against Cordell, whose address was given as Ensbury Avenue, Bournemouth, was proved against him under the single justice procedure.
The case was dealt with at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Monday, October 18, when a single magistrate issued the defendant with a £1,100 fine and ordered him to pay a £110 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.
Courts papers state that Cordell was not present in court.
At the time of the offence the country was in a national lockdown with strict restrictions in place.
