A MAN has been hit with a court bill of more than £800 for leaving his home during lockdown without a reasonable excuse.

Lache-Danut Baiaram pleaded guilty to committing the offence when he lived in Brunswick Place, Southampton, on January 22.

The 32-year-old, now of Richmond Hill, Bournemouth, was caught on the A338 in Dorset in breach of the coronavirus regulations.

At the time of the offence, people were only allowed to leave home for a limited set of reasons.

Baiaram pleaded guilty to the single charge under the single justice procedure process.

His case was dealt with at Weymouth Magistrates' Court on Monday, October 18.

The bench fined him £733 alongside an order to pay a £73 surcharge and £85 costs.
