CARS have been rescued after getting stuck in floodwater prompting a warning to motorists to take care on Dorset's roads.
Furzebrook Road in Wareham is closed following heavy rainfall overnight which has caused flooding. Several cars got stuck in the floodwater and had to be rescued prior to the road closure.
Police officers are warning that more rain is expected tonight and have urged drivers to stay safe on Dorset roads.
A spokesman for Purbeck Police said: "Following the heavy rain we had over night, the Furzebrook Road to Blue Pool is flooded. Police have had to shut the road due to the depth of the water.
"Please do not drive through this as cars have already got stuck and had to be rescued. There is more rain on the way this evening so please take great care on the roads."
