BOURNEMOUTH is set to be lit up by more than 100 festive-themed illuminations this winter as Christmas Tree Wonderland returns to the town.

Back by popular demand, the event includes the 60ft feature tree in the heart of the Lower Gardens from November 19 to January 2.

Visitors will be led by a trail from Lansdowne to the Triangle through the gardens to the seafront and can enjoy the 10m Changing Tree of Light, a cascading waterfall, giant reindeer, gingerbread people, polar bears, a giant bauble and trees representing cities from around the globe including the Moscow Tree will also return to Pier Approach.

Plans also include the return of the long-standing alpine bar and the ever-popular SKATE ice rink.

The square will feature its traditional Christmas market with traders selling hot beverages, yuletide treats and festive trinkets.

This year’s main sponsors have been confirmed as Town Centre BID, Coastal BID and Yellow Buses with further support from South Western Railway and Pay By Phone.
