A KEY Dorset road has reopened again today following an incident involving three vehicles which shut the road this morning, Monday October 18.

The A354 at Tarrant Hinton, north-east of Blandford, was shut around 7am following a report of a three vehicle collision.

Dorset Police confirmed they received the call at 6.54am, with it being reported at least one vehicle was overturned.

Once on the scene police closed the route in both directions while emergency services were on the scene.

Recovery for all of the vehicles was then requested.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Services (DWFRS) was also in attendance, offering care until paramedics arrived.

A spokesperson for DWFRS said: “Two crews from Blandford were mobilised to assist at a road traffic collision on the Blandford Road, Tarrant Hinton just before 7am today. On arrival crews found three vehicles involved, one on its roof.

“No persons were trapped but crews did undertake casualty care until the ambulance arrived and also carried out scene safety. “

Fire services then left the scene by 7.30am.

The road was then reopened at around 8.50am this morning, police confirmed.

Following the opening of the road, despite a vehicle being on its roof, Dorset Police confirmed only minor injuries were sustained by those involved.

Traffic in the area then cleared by 9.50am this morning, having previously disrupted bus services earlier on in the day.

Excelsior’s MP10 and Q4 buses were affected with additional vehicles deployed, but services were still delayed by over 90 minutes.
