Pi Pizza has taken on the former Stable Bar & Restaurant site at 2 High Street.

It will be the business's third restaurant in the UK, with existing premises in Winchester and Battersea, London.

There is waterside seating internally for up to 100 guests across two floors and a large outdoor dining space on the recently created pedestrian street area.

Pi Pizza was founded in 2014 by restaurateur Rosie Whaley and is known for its 20 inch sharing pizzas made with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, using a secret dough recipe and all served up with a selection of small plates and cocktails.

Rosie Whaley, founder of Pi Pizza, said: “This is an exciting time for us as we prepare to open our third restaurant in the UK seven years after founding Pi Pizza.

"We cannot wait to open in this beautiful, listed building and offer our unique pizza dining experience to Poole.”

The Stable closed its Poole premises in March last year, with majority share holder Fullers citing "rising costs" as the reason behind this decision.

The disposal process of the site was managed by Savills.

Chris Bickle, director in the licensed leisure team at Savills Southampton, said: “Waterside locations in larger southern coastal towns across Dorset and neighbouring Hampshire are in high demand with no signs of abating.

"Since there is a shortage of stock we would encourage property owners to get in touch and take advantage of the buoyant market conditions.”
