A BOAT with seven people on board, including children, got stuck in the mud during low water on Saturday evening.
Both Poole lifeboats were tasked to the vessel which had run aground north of the pier off Furzey just after 6.30pm.
The 27ft rigid inflatable boat (RIB) had four children and three adults on board.
The first lifeboat found the RIB just south of Brownsea and as the second lifeboat arrived on scene, it was decided that the young children and one adult would be taken back to the shore.
A crew member assisted with the transfer while the rest of the crew laid out the anchor to secure the vessel, so that the people could return in daylight when the tide was back.
The lifeboat then took the two remaining adults back to Salterns Marina.
