A NEW theatre themed Café is opening this weekend in the heart of Boscombe.

The Black Cherry Theatre will be holding an opening weekend for their new cafe in the centre of Boscombe on the 8th and 9th of October.

Visitors can expect regular music, theatre and comedy performances along with a cafe menu and licensed bar.

The venue will be run by the Black Cherry company which was established in 2018, as a local creative and artistic venture.

Jon Davis, Company Director said: "This unique space is a fantastic addition to cultural development in BCP and an opportunity to access art and come together to create.

"At the heart of this venture was then and still is the creation of sustainable and consistent opportunity for the arts in BCP. Black Cherry's goal has always been to get people fizzing with  excitement about the wonder of performing arts and the creative industries by developing & presenting original work generated collaboratively, whilst giving opportunities to professional artists.

"With that in mind Black Cherry have made the decision to continue their journey developing opportunities for artists. This step will provide a permanent space to continue our adventure.

To say there has been a huge amount of work behind the scenes to make this happen would be an understatement. We are absolutely over the moon to announce we now have our very own theatrical space. Expect regular Improv comedy. Expect awesome stand up. Expect a phenomenal programme of music. Expect art. Expect experimentation, Expect family entertainment. Expect classes. Expect courses. Expect a home for artistic development in the south. The Black Cherry will be the most epic space and we can't wait to show it off."
