POLICE have arrested a man in Poole for possession of Class A drugs during patrols for cuckooing in the area.

Officers were conducting visits of housing blocks in the town on Thursday October 7 in attempts to clamp down on county lines drug dealing .

One man was given a conditional caution after being found in possession of heroin, whilst a second man was detained.

A spokesman from Poole Police said: “Officers from the Poole Neighbourhood police team were conducting cuckooing checks in town this morning on the hunt for county lines drug dealers.

“A number of properties were visited, and the welfare of occupants checked.

“One male was initially arrested in Drake Court for possession of Class A, he was interviewed and given a conditional caution after being found in possession of heroin.

“In another housing block a male was detained for a strip search and taken back to the police station, nothing further was found although a quantity of cash suspected to be stolen was seized.”
