A WOMAN was hit on the back of the head and then slapped twice in the face by a man outside a school in Bournemouth.

Police investigating the assault have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to.

The incident occurred outside St Clement’s and St John’s CE Infant School on St Clement’s Road between 3pm and 3.05pm on Thursday, September 30.

The victim was approached from behind by a man and hit on the back of the head, then slapped twice in the face.

The offender appeared to be on a video call and was recording the incident.

The man made off in the direction of Palmerston Road.

Police said he is described as white, aged in his late teens to early 20s and with brown hair. He was wearing all black clothing and white trainers.

The victim sustained a cut to her face as a result of the assault.

Police Constable Alice Fay, of Boscombe Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This was a nasty unprovoked assault and we are carrying out enquiries to try and identify the man responsible.

“I understand there were a number of people in the area at the time of this incident and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please get in touch.

“I am also issuing a CCTV image of the suspect leaving the scene, I appreciate it is not the clearest image but I am hopeful it may help jog someone’s memory.”
