A SWAN was shot dead in Poole with an “unknown object”, prompting a police investigation.
Dorset Police were made away of a dead swan on Sunday morning.
A spokesperson said: “Dorset Police received a report at 8.16am on Sunday, October 3, of a dead swan in Poole Park.
“It was reported that the swan may have been shot with an unknown object.
“Officers from the local neighbourhood policing team and BCP Council have been made aware.
“Enquiries are underway to establish how the swan sustained its injuries.”
BCP Council and the RSPCA have been contacted for more information.
