GREAT British Bake Off viewers have called for Maggie from Poole to be 'protected at all costs' following harsh criticism from judge Paul Hollywood that left the baker in tears.

Viewers tuned in last night, Tuesday, September 28, to watch Maggie create two brilliant bakes leaving the nation falling ever-more in love with her soft Dorset charm.

However, judge Paul Hollywood managed to rile up viewers after his comments left Maggie in tears.

The contestants were tasked with baking a showstopper based on their favourite childhood toy.

Jurgen was crowned star baker for the second week in a row for his exceptional windmill showstopper.

Meanwhile Maggie attempted to recreate a childhood beach house playset out of biscuits.

Fans watched as she struggled to piece together her beach hut as the walls kept falling down.

After receiving some disappointing comments from the judges – particularly Paul  who told her to 'try harder' – Maggie was overcome with emotion and began to cry as she feared she would be leaving the tent.

Fans slammed Paul for being too harsh and even blamed him for reducing Maggie to tears.

One fan called for Maggie to be protected 'at all cost' following the comments.

Magicalfindsuk tweeted: “No more bad comments to Maggie please Paul my heart can’t take her sad face”.

Other viewers slammed Paul calling him 'mean-spirited'.

Viewers were quick to rally around the Poole residents as she brushed herself off and carried on with the competition.

Last night viewers saw the tent bid farewell to its third contestant Jairzeno after a series of bad bakes during biscuit week.
