SOME of Dorset’s most renowned chefs are set to cook up a storm as they take part in the Poole Seafood Festival this weekend.

With a host of appetising cookery demonstrations lined up, Dorset’s only free seafood festival will welcome several chefs to its main seafood demo stage. These include:

Sarah Ali Choudhury, the multi award-winning ‘Curry Queen’ who recently presented the BBC’s Inside Out programme highlighting female chefs. Sarah is president of Poole Bay Rotary Club, as well as being the district leader for Equality & Diversity and an ambassador for Lewis Manning Hospice.

Also attending is award-winning chef Ian Gibbs from the Smugglers Run in Christchurch. Ian once cooked for HM The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh at Gloucester Cathedral for the Maundy Thursday service.

Head chef at Rick Stein Sandbanks Ian Salmon will also appear. Ian’s passion for the finest produce paired with Rick’s recipes sees the Sandbanks outpost flourishing.

Pete Miles, owner of Dorset Oysters, will be sharing his story and a few dishes of his own.

Christian Ørner, private chef and chocolatier is the owner-chef at SALT Cø. He specialises in modern French, British, Mediterranean and Scandinavian foods uniting Norwegian and British heritage with his favourite cuisine.

In addition, Rob Milton of Othniel Shellfish will be talking about his work overseeing the production of award-winning Pacific oysters from the company’s 51 hectares of shellfish beds in Poole Harbour.

The festival in Poole Quay is free to attend, opening from 10am-9pm on Saturday September 25 and 11am-6pm on Sunday 26.
