MOREBUS is offering half price bus travel across Dorset to mark world car free day.

The bus operator will provide discounted tickets between September 18-25 for customers new to using its mobile app during that week.

World car free day, on September 22, is an initiative aimed at reducing congestion and improving air quality by promoting alternative methods of travel.

“At Morebus, we welcome any initiative designed to reduce the harmful effects exhaust emissions have on the environment,” said Andrew Wickham, Morebus managing director.

“Our bus fleet is one of the newest and cleanest in the region. Over recent years, we have introduced a large number of brand new buses to operate our services across Dorset.

“Many of these sport the very latest Euro 6 engine - releasing fewer emissions than the average new diesel car.”

The discount will offer 50% off of adult day rider tickets for anyone between the age of 18-25 purchased via the operators app.

Customers can also make use of a 20% reduced rate off a weekly ticket, also purchased via their app.

Those who wish to make use of the offer will need to use a discount code which can be found on the morebus website along with additional information.
