AN ELDERLY man was hit in the head with a crowbar during a robbery at an underground car park in Bournemouth.

The victim was approached by a man, who was carrying a crowbar, and a woman at the car park in Wolverton Road, Boscombe, at approximately 1pm on Thursday, September 9.

It is reported that the victim was hit in the head and a quantity of cash was stolen from his wallet.

The victim sustained injuries to his hand and face and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The suspects left the scene on foot through a fire exit door in the car park onto Christchurch Road near to Geo A Payne & Son Ltd.

The man is described as white, five feet ten inches tall and of average build. He was wearing a dark-coloured lightweight jacket and dark-coloured jogging bottoms. The woman is described as approximately five feet six inches tall and of average build. She was wearing a dark-coloured top and bottoms. They were both wearing a mask.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Constable Christian Bryant, of Dorset Police’s Priority Crime Team, said: “Our enquiries are continuing into this incident and I would urge anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area to please come forward.

“I would also urge members of the public to please check their home CCTV systems or dashcam footage for anything relevant to help my investigation.”
