Thousands turned out for Race for Life in 2001.

Women of all ages raced from Bournemouth Pier to Boscombe Pier and back again.

All runners and supporters took part in a fun warm-up, doing star-jumps and numerous stretches before setting off.

The annual event was in aid of Imperial Cancer Research Fund.

More than 2,000 runners set off on their 2001 Race for Life on Bournemouth seafront.
