Thousands turned out for Race for Life in 2001.
Women of all ages raced from Bournemouth Pier to Boscombe Pier and back again.
All runners and supporters took part in a fun warm-up, doing star-jumps and numerous stretches before setting off.
The annual event was in aid of Imperial Cancer Research Fund.
These pictures show some of those who took part – both in action and warming up.
The Daily Echo has covered each and every event held since it began in the town and spoken to a huge number of amazing and courageous women that have battled with cancer themselves or had a loved one that has.
Some of those are taking part in Race for Life in these images.
Poole Race for Life takes place this weekend.
