POOLE parkrun has been cancelled this weekend so that the Race for Life event can take place.

The weekly 5km run will be cancelled this Saturday, September 11, as the Poole Race for Life 10km and 5km races will be taking place.

The Race for Life raises money for Cancer Research UK and will be starting in Baiter ark before taking in the sights of Poole Park, Whitecliff Recreation Ground, and Harbourside before finishing back in the park. 

There is still space to sign up for The Race for Life, entry into the 10km is £14.99 for adults and £10 for children, under 6s go free.

Poole parkrun will be back on the following week and is a free event that takes place every Saturday at 9am in Poole Park for runners of all standards.

The run is not competitive although it is timed so can be used as a chance to get active and have fun or be part of a training regime.

To take part in your first run you need to register on the parkrun website.
