BCP Council Chairman Nigel Hedges opened furniture retailer Sofology’s new store in Poole on Saturday, August 28.
The new outlet opened at Unit Four on the Wessex Gate Retail Park in Poole over the bank holiday weekend and has created 12 new permanent jobs in the area.
Shaun Cook, director of retail at Sofology, was pleased with the response the new store got with shoppers over the weekend.
He said: “It was great to see such a positive response from local shoppers at the Poole store on Saturday and we were delighted to have BCP Chairman, Councillor Nigel Hedges, officially open the store.”
The new site is open seven days a week at the 18,000 sq foot store, which previously housed Bensons for Beds and Harveys.
Inside there is a dedicated team of ‘Sofologists’ on-hand to help shoppers and a showcase of the sofa specialist’s collection of upholstery, furniture and accessories.
The Poole store, which is also dog friendly, is part of the retailer’s expansion plans with a further four planned to open across the UK later this year.
