THE summer festivities continue across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole and there is plenty to do at Festival Coast Live! to entertain everyone this week and over the Bank Holiday weekend.

This is the last week of Summer Live in Bournemouth Square and there is a programme of entertainers ready to finish the event in style.

Highlights include the Ska/ Reggae Party with The Reverend on Friday night and the super talented Jordan Watts on Saturday evening.

Sunday begins with DJ Allan Turner Ward and finishes with the fabulous Matt Black Knees Up on Sunday evening. The Jimmy Hillbillies headline the closing party on Bank Holiday Monday.

On Wednesday night, the much-anticipated 70s/ 80s Singalong night, including songs from Priscilla, Queen of the Desert will be taking place at the bandstand.

Louise Clarke, the event organiser said: “It is going to be super upbeat and uplifting - we want everyone to singalong to the classic songs and have a good old boogie. It has been a tough time for so many people, so to get people smiling again by putting on this event means the world to us.”

If you enjoy a boogie head over to the Dancing Terraces on Friday and Saturday night where Pavilion Dance South West will teach you to dance the Charleston and a traditional Ceilidh.

The Big Screen is back in Bournemouth Lower Gardens this week and is broadcasting a full schedule of films from family favourites such as Minions, Jungle Book and Ratatouille to Jailhouse Rock.

Why not make a free evening of it on Friday? Bring a picnic and enjoy The Greatest Showman at 7pm and round off your evening with a great view of the Bournemouth Friday Fireworks on Pier Approach at 10 pm.

If you love a fireworks display, you won’t want to miss the penultimate Cityfibre Summer Fireworks on Poole Quay on Thursday evening.

Experience a fabulous family atmosphere and entertainment including live music, street entertainment, rides and activities for the family to enjoy in the lead up to the fireworks display over the largest natural harbour in Europe.

Back in Bournemouth, at the Horseshoe Common Stage, there will be a Bourne Free Takeover on Saturday from 2pm featuring some of the most popular acts from the Bourne Free Pride festival. Brighton based synth inspired alt pop band, Yumi and the Weather will be at the Triangle Stage at 3pm.

Later at 7pm, Native Tongue (formerly the Deltorers), a local grunge act will be showcasing their new material.

At the Star Tent in Bournemouth’s Lower Gardens, SoundStorm and Wave, BCP Council’s national award-winning music and arts education service, continue to offer this week free and exciting participatory activities for children and families.

With Arts2Educate arts workshops early in the week and West African dance and drum workshops coming later, these workshops are suitable for young people aged 6+ and their parents/carers.

Cllr Beverley Dunlop, BCP Council lead member for Festival Coast Live!, said: “Everyone involved in organising this summer’s Festival Coast Live! events has gone above and beyond to ensure that residents and visitors have been able to enjoy world-class outdoor entertainment. We have a few weeks left to enjoy these events and performances across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, so take a look at the schedule and choose what entertainment suits you and your family best.”
