SLIM Chickens is the latest restaurant to establish a base in Bournemouth, offering a wide variety of chicken based products and plenty of vegan alternatives.

Famed for its chicken tenders, the variety of choice on the menu certainly isn’t slim with sandwiches, wings, salads and wraps all on offer with a selection of 15 dipping sauces.

Set in the BH2 complex, the interior of the restaurant is a classy take on an American diner with some unique artwork on the walls, a variety of seating and some blues music to relax as you tuck in.

Bournemouth Echo:

What sets this US-based chain apart from others, in addition to its food variety, is that it shows live sport inside the venue as well as serving alcohol - giving a bar-like feel in a fast-food setting.

The food on offer is all made to order so the customer knows what they’re getting is both hot and fresh, which seems obvious but where other known brands falter.

Bournemouth Echo:

As mentioned Slims, as it's affectionately named, is known for its tenders and they certainly don’t disappoint offering an improved version on taste and freshness of boneless chicken strips that other fast food retailers sell - and certainly a lot less greasy.

What's best about these is the selection of 15 sauces to dip into offering some different flavours including honey BBQ, sriracha garlic, spicy BBQ and the fiery inferno the likes of which aren’t usually available in similar venues.

The rest of the menu offers chicken just as succulent as the tenders with a selection of the types of food you’d typically find in such a venue, but with added flavour and certainly a lot less grease.

Bournemouth Echo:

As well as serving alcohol the food outlet offers a selection of soft drinks including your typical fizzy drinks along with milkshakes.

In addition to the standard flavours like chocolate and banana there is one noticeable edition that's rarely, if at all, seen elsewhere popcorn (yes sweet not salted of course) - and it's certainly worth trying out for a delicious twist on a popular drink.

As well as its unique settings, compared to many others similar venues in the industry, it is in general a more upmarket take on other famous fast-food chicken restaurants - and with cracking results.

Overall Slim Chickens is certainly worth checking out for yourself, especially if you have not been to one of its branches before. I know I’ll be going back.
