POLICE were called to a report of two men with a possible firearm over the Wessex Way in Bournemouth.
Two men were reportedly seen in possession of an item that may possibly have been a firearm on the footpath over the dual carriageway near to Shelbourne Close at 5.23pm on Wednesday, July 28.
Police attended and carried out searches of the local area.
The two men involved were identified and spoken to at an address in Borthwick Road.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "Following searches and further enquiries, including a review of dashcam footage, officers were satisfied that the men had not been in possession of a firearm and that no offences were committed.
"This incident is believed to have been a false alarm with good intent."
