MORE Bus night services will not be resuming for the time being despite only being withdrawn initially at the start of the pandemic.

The bus operator has confirmed to the Echo that the N1 and N2 services, which operate between Poole bus station to Castlepoint and Southbourne respectively, will however be back at some stage in the future.

In a statement provided to the Echo Morebus operations director, David Lee-Kong, said: “The N1 and N2 services were withdrawn temporarily at the start of the pandemic - and it is our intention to recommence this service as soon as it is viable for us to do so.

“It is still early days but we are pleased to be welcoming many of our customers back on-board.

Mr. Lee-Kong confirmed it is unknown when the services will return.

He added: “At the present time we do not have a precise date on when the N1 and N2 journeys will be re-introduced, but we will make an announcement in due course.”

N1 and N2 buses were services which replaced the M1 and M2 at regular intervals through the night across the BCP area.

The services both called via Upper Parkstone, Westbourne and Bournemouth on the way to their final destinations, before making the reverse journey of the loop.

Currently Yellow Buses operate night bus services on selected routes in the BCP area.

However, they only run between midnight and 1:30am - having been reintroduced at the end of May this year following the easing of lockdown restrictions.

The same cannot be said for the services run by More Bus despite only being originally axed as a direct response to lockdown measures following the outbreak of Covid-19.

Currently the last M1 service departs Poole bus station at 00.25, arriving at Castlepoint at 01.10, before starting up again at 04.30 during the week and on Saturdays.

While the M2 leaves at 00.10, reaching Southbourne at 00.55, and then starting up once again at 05.40 that morning during the week.
