BOURNEMOUTH residents were evacuated from their homes earlier today after a man threatened to harm himself and others.
At 3.24am today, Saturday, July 24, Dorset Police received a report of a man with a knife at an address in Aldridge Road in Bournemouth.
Officers attended the scene but the man had already left.
Following enquiries, the man was located at an address in Frost Road just after 5am, but refused to come out while making threats to harm himself and others.
Officers engaged with the man in an effort to resolve the situation safely.
A number of nearby residents were also evacuated from the location.
Just after 9am the incident concluded and the man was arrested in relation to it.
He has been taken to hospital for treatment.
