AN UNAUTHORISED encampment of caravans and vehicles has been set up on a playing fields in Poole.
This morning there were around seven caravans, eight cars and a van on Wallisdown Recreation Ground, at the furtherest point from Wallisdown Road.
The field is owned by BCP Council but leased and managed by Bournemouth University.
It is understood the local authority is currently assessing the situation and discussions are taking place between the council and the university.
A Bournemouth University spokesman said: “We are aware of the current unauthorised access on Wallisdown fields and are working with BCP Council to manage and resolve the situation.”
The Daily Echo has contacted BCP Council for comment.
