FOLLOWING two years of failed starts, Poole’s Steppin' Out performance art school was finally able to take to the stage of the Bournemouth Pavillion on July 3.

Performing its fairytale-themed Time Upon a Once the school managed to switch from its original venue at a local school for a pavilion to showcase their production.

More than one hundred students aged 3-18 featured in the show who all showed great persistence waiting for the show to finally take place.

Steppin’ Out’s principal and owner, Angela Taylor, said: “The past 16 months have been so hard for young people and we were determined to get this show on the stage for them.

“Our rehearsals were affected and there was a financial hit of not being able to have a full capacity theatre – but it was all so worth it to see the amazing performances.”

The performance came just in time to mark the 30th anniversary of school which Ms Taylor described as the “ best present I could ask for”.

Time Upon a Once tells the story of a teenager who does not believe in love or happy ever afters, until her toy frog comes to life and takes her on a journey through the land of fairy tales.
