A CAR crashed into the front of a Bournemouth hairdressers leaving one person with a spinal injury.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the parade of shops in Ringwood Road, Bournemouth, on Wednesday morning.

The silver car went through the front of The Hair Studio, causing extensive damage to the premises.

A Dorset Police spokeswoman said: "We were called at 8.48am on Wednesday, July 14, to a report that a car had collided with a shop window on Ringwood Road in Bournemouth. Officers attended the scene with the fire and ambulance services.

"One person sustained a spinal injury and was taken to hospital for treatment.

"Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. Two other people were treated at the scene."

A Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "We were called to Ringwood Road, Bournemouth at 8.57am this morning after reports that a car had hit a commercial premises.

"Two crews attended, from Redhill Park and Poole; nobody was trapped but firefighters assisted with casualty care of three people. Our stop was at 9.45am."

One neighbour said that they heard a "huge crash" before running out to investigate. They told the Daily Echo that people were in the hairdressers at the time.

They added: “Police and fire services got here very quickly and evacuated the whole building.

The resident said the incident was “very shocking”.
