A MAN armed with a firearm assaulted two men, with one of the victims suffering a stab wound to the leg.
Dorset Police has launched an investigation over the incident, which took place in the early hours of Monday morning in Keeble Road.
Officers received a report that two men had been assaulted in Keeble Road at 12.45am on July 12.
One of the victims sustained a stab wound to his leg and they were both taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not believed to be serious.
It was reported that the man who assaulted them was in possession of a firearm, but no weapon was discharged during the incident.
Following enquiries, a 29-year-old man of no fixed abode has been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. He is currently assisting officers with their enquiries.
The arrested man and the victims are known to each other, Dorset Police said.
Detective Inspector Darren Moores, of Bournemouth CID, said: “Our investigation is continuing into the incident and I would urge anyone who may have witnessed what happened to please come forward.
“I am also keen to hear from anyone who may have anything of relevance on either home CCTV, doorbell cameras or dashcam footage.”
