SECURITY staff were threatened with a knife after challenging two suspected shoplifters.
A man and a woman ran off from B&Q at Castlepoint after being approached.
The pair fled through the underground car park area toward Evershot Road, with security following.
Dorset Police, who have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident, say that when security staff challenged them again on Evershot Road the man pulled a knife from his pocket and threatened them.
No-one was injured in the incident, which unfolded around 1pm on Monday, June 7.
Police Sergeant Paul Harding, of North Bournemouth Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “As part of my enquiries, I am now in a position to issue an image of a man I would like to identify.
“I would urge anyone who recognises him to please come forward and contact Dorset Police.”
