NEW dates have been announced for this year’s Poole Quay fireworks.

Two minutes of bright green fireworks will mark the beginning of the popular event, now due to take place every Thursday from July 29 up to and including September 2.

Free live music and family fun will be the backdrop to the quayside event which is set to return bigger and better as part of the CityFibre Spectacular. There will be a range of themed nights as part of the entertainment, including American, Asian, carnival, pirates and nautical.

This latest event forms part of the Festival Coast Live! programme of outdoor activities and events celebrating community, talent, and performance.

Cllr Beverley Dunlop, lead member for Festival Coast Live!, said: “Following the most recent Government announcement, we’ve delayed the start of the CityFibre Poole Quay Summer Fireworks by one week so that we can deliver the full experience, safely.

“Everyone involved in organising this year’s events has gone above and beyond to ensure that residents and visitors can enjoy world-class outdoor entertainment, in line with ongoing government guidelines. We’re really looking forward to hosting this exciting and popular event in this beautiful location.”

Lucy Cooper, City Manager of CityFibre, said: “We have been working incredibly hard alongside our colleagues at BCP Council to provide this year’s sterling entertainment. It is an event we know is so popular with residents and visitors alike which is why we have done all we can to ensure we can deliver six specially themed evenings and the all-important firework displays to all.”
