The show must go on – one Dorset theatre school is epitomising that famous showbiz mantra.

BIGLITTLE Theatre School, which runs classes for youngsters in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Ringwood, was forced to cancel its annual Broadway Showtunes production last year due to the pandemic.

But the show is finally back this month for its 20th summer season. Traditionally, it has been staged at Bournemouth's Pavilion Theatre, but has this year been moved to the BIC's Windsor Hall.

The move will allow the young cast to be socially distanced both on and off stage, and also ensure ample socially distanced seating within the auditorium.

Collin Billing, operations director and executive producer, said: "We are delighted that, despite numerous challenges and the disappointment and delay in lifting of the covid restrictions, we are still able to bring this show to life, all be it in its socially distanced format.

"Broadway Showtunes gives our young cast the opportunity to do what they love and perform in front of a live audience once more. We are exceptionally proud of all the students and to our incredible creative and production team who have pulled out all of the stops to make this show happen."

The cast of trained musical theatre students will perform some of the best-loves songs from the greatest musicals of all time. Backed by a West End orchestra, Broadway Showtunes has been bringing a taste of Broadway to Bournemouth for two decades.

This year's show takes place from July 15 to 17. Tickets are on sale from the BH Live box office at bhlivetickets.co.uk.
