A YELLOW weather warning has been issued for parts of Dorset ahead of thunderstorms expected tomorrow.

The Met Office has issued the weather warning due to thunderstorms which it expects to hit east Dorset, covering Sturminster Newton, Gillingham and A354.

The Met Office has imposed the yellow weather warning from 6am onwards on Saturday, July 3 and said that the heavy rain may bring some disruptions throughout the day.

There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes or hail, the Met Office said.
