THE REGENT Centre in Christchurch has been announced as the top selling cinema in the UK for sales of Michael Ball and Alfie Boe’s concert “Back Together” on the big screen.

During their brief four-week reopening last December, the theatre welcomed audiences to four sell-out socially distanced performances after the original screenings were rescheduled due to the pandemic.

A representative from CinemaLive, the broadcast’s distributor, said: “This is a fantastic achievement, especially at this crazy time. I hope it brought some joy to your audience. Thank you for being such a wonderful cinema to work with.”

Due to phenomenal demand, the superstar pair will be back on big screen for the fifth and final time on Sunday July 4 at 3pm.

The singers will take on their favourite musical theatre, pop, and rock tracks at the O2 Arena, performing songs such as 'The Greatest Show' 'Something Inside so Strong' and a 'Queen Medley'.

The Regent Centre’s General Manager, Matthew Vass-White, said: “We were thrilled to reopen our doors in December, albeit temporarily, and we’re delighted to learn we achieved the highest attendance in the UK for this broadcast, especially in the current climate.

“We are extremely thankful to our supportive audiences as without them, this wouldn’t be possible.”
