AS the weekend saw the arrival of the first Sunday market in Bournemouth town centre, the Echo looks back at pictures from Dorset markets of the past.
They are often noisy, colourful wonderlands where shoppers pack the spaces between market stalls as they busily search for bargains while chatting to the traders.
Stalls are piled carefully with produce, meat, household items and bric-a-brac – many things the average shopper wants or needs.
