FIVE fire crews dealt with an accidental fire in a flat in Bournemouth earlier today, June 20.

Crews from Springbourne, Redhill, Westbourne, Christchurch and Poole were called to Cotlands Road.

It has now been confirmed that the cause of the fire was accidental and involved a microwave oven on an electric hob in a kitchen of a flat on the fifth floor of the building.

The fire has now been extinguished.

The fire service is urging people to "take care when cooking" and to never leave anything unattended.
