BOURNEMOUTH has been ranked number one on a list of the UK's top 'zen' capitals.
Devon-based natural product company, Supplement Place, says it used figures from the Office of National Statistics to compile the list.
They took the UK's 50 highest populated towns and cities and ranked them for quality of life factors such as happiness, life satisfaction and anxiety.
Bournemouth topped the list with a 'zen score' of 7.72 out of 10.
Reading came second with 7.14 and Warrington third with 6.90.
A spokesman for Supplement Place said: "With so many fantastic beaches within reach, it’s no wonder that the residents of Bournemouth are the most chilled-out in the country.
"Bournemouth did so well thanks to its high score for life satisfaction and coming top in the country for happiness, while at the same time scoring in the bottom five for anxiety levels.
"It must be all that sea air that keeps the locals so calm."
