AN ORIGINAL and socially-distanced play that incorporates the life of local people and links to the current climate will be performed this weekend.

Flea the Pandemic, a Taboo Theatre production, will be performed at Sturminster’s The Exchange on Saturday, June 19 at 3pm and 7.30pm and Sunday, June 20 at 3pm.

The play was written by Sue Ashby and directed by Craig White and follows a range of characters in the story of the first plague to arrive in England at the port of Melcombe Regis.

Eight actors trace and track this disease from Dorset coast to the county boundary of Wiltshire.

Flea the Pandemic mixes history and humour to look at the rich and the poor, the powerful and the essential workers, looking at "why little has changed in 672 years."

This is Taboo Theatre’s third play using Dorset history and the lives of ordinary people, and they would love people to join them in celebrating the reopening of the Stour Hall for a public, socially-distanced, performance.
