PEOPLE are invited to build natural habitats and homes for insects at St John’s Churchyard in Broadstone.

The local Neighbourhood Watch granted St John’s £1,000 to build their eco shed, which resources the eco chapel.

And the church has set aside a morning for families to join them making bug hotels.

Families can head to the churchyard on Saturday, July 3 to build the homes, part of the new eco chapel.

Over the coming months they are planning to add seating, create a wildflower area, build bird boxes and offer educational and craft opportunities for families and children to have fun learning about caring for nature and our planet.

The clergy, Revd Helen and Revd Lyndon, said they were looking forward to seeing the church and community enjoying creating together.

St John’s also has a ‘muddy church’ walk and picnic on Sunday, August 8.

Both the Bug Hotel workshop and Muddy Church are free. People are asked to register at office@stjohnschurchbroadstone.org.uk.
