A MAN has appeared in court accused of seriously assaulting another man in Bournemouth.
Michael Martin Doyle, 51, is alleged to have unlawfully and maliciously wounded a man with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm in Holdenhurst Road on Thursday, June 3.
He has also been charged with having a knife which had a cutting edge in excess of three inches without good reason or lawful authority.
Doyle, whose address was given as Holdenhurst Road, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court on Friday, June 4.
The defendant did not enter a plea to the charges and he was remanded into custody.
The case was sent up to Bournemouth Crown Court, with a hearing due to take place on Wednesday, July 7.
As reported, police were called to Holdenhurst Road just before 6am on June 3 and a man in his 40s was taken to hospital with a serious chest injury which was not considered to be life-threatening.
A road closure was put in place while emergency services responded to the incident.
